Security Clearances

David Sheldon helps members of the military service and DOD civilian employees obtain or keep their security clearances. If you have been denied a security clearance, or if your security clearance is being revoked or suspended, he will help you do everything necessary to fix the problem.

Even if you have done something embarrassing—or illegal—in the past, it may be possible to explain it or put it in a context to show that it does not create a security risk. Mr. Sheldon knows how to analyze the regulations and present the facts to prove no security risk exists. If it is possible in your case, he will find the way.

Solid preparation and representation for the DOD hearing is critical. The administrative judge who conducts your hearing will make a recommendation to the Personnel Security Appeal Board (PSAB) that will be the basis for the PSAB’s decision. Your attorney must be familiar with the PSAB.

Mr. Sheldon knows how the PSAB operates and what the board looks for in making its decisions. He will analyze the regulations that are being used to deny your security clearance and then work with you to collect witness statements and other evidence that show they do not apply. Then he will complete a brief with a thorough explanation of the evidence that shows there is no security risk. Mr. Sheldon also will prepare you to make the most effective statement at the hearing.

Examples of David Sheldon’s Results:

  • Favorable ruling from an Administrative Law Judge for a Navy Petty Officer, even after he admitted mishandling classified material.
  • Security clearance reinstatement for bisexual male after submitting a comprehensive memorandum.
